DAU Equivalent Training/FAI Compliancy/DAWIA
The Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) has operated for over two decades supporting the professional development of the Federal acquisition workforce. In 2005, the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP) published a Policy Letter which required the FAI to develop a certification program for contracting professionals in Government Agencies that reflects common standards.
This program is intended to mirror as closely as possible, the requirements that the Department of Defense (DoD) established for its contracting workforce under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA).
The certification will be accepted by all Civilian agencies as evidence that an employee meets the core education, training and experience requirements to be a contracting professional (generally the GS-1102 series).
The following is a chart showing the DAU contracting courses required by the DAWIA certification program. NPI, Inc. offers equivalent training for Levels I, II and III. Please contact us at susanc@npi-training.com for scheduled dates and locations.
